In a shocking move, the county announced replacing their recycling center workers with child labor. The county cited the need for more "nimble fingers" to sort through the recycling, and apparently, the best solution they could come up with was to exploit the youth.
According to sources, the children will be paid in juice boxes and animal crackers, with occasional breaks for nap time and story hour. They will also be required to wear cute little hats and vests to appear more professional.
While some have expressed concern about the morality of child labor, the county insists they are doing an excellent service to the community. "Think of all the cans and bottles that won't end up in landfills," said one county official. "Besides, kids love playing with trash, so it's a win-win."
Currently, the child labor recycling center has yet to open, but when it does, the county is confident that it will be a huge success. "Who needs adult workers when you can have adorable children doing the job for free?" said the official.
The move has caused a stir among concerned citizens, but for now, it seems the county is sticking to its plan at least until Child Protective Services gets wind of it.
